He got the thumb sucker gene

I think Grandma Butikofer will appreciate these pictures of Luke. I have some that look very similiar of when I was a wee babe. I'm glad that one of my kids likes his thumb; it makes me happy that although they don't look like me, I am part of their genes. The only thing that worries me is getting him to stop when he is older, because I didn't stop until I was in Kindergarten, right Mom?

GREAT THINGS COME IN SMALL PACKAGES

Grandpa Butikofer sent us some stuff so we decided to use the box that was leftover to help train Luke to sit up. He is getting there, but hasn't quite mastered it yet. He also rolled over (on my B-Day) but has only done that a few times since then. That could have something to do with the fact that he is held more than put down, but he is just so cute we have to kiss his face off every chance we get!!!

Josh First Grade Music Program

Yesterday we all got to go enjoy Josh's music program. The whole Fam got to go which Josh was excited about!!!! The theme was singing with the animals. Josh's class was the horses. And they sang my favorite song " Shoo fly, don't bother me" It was great to see him in action!!!

Then And Now

THAT WAS THEN!

THIS IS NOW!!

The one day of the year when it's all about me is MY BIRTHDAY!! A lot of people told me that 30 was going to be a hard birthday to get through, but so far mine has been fantastic. Brian, by coincidence, (he was going to go turkey hunting, but we all know he already got one) had today off so I started my day with a two mile run. I came home to my favorite breakfast which consists of orange julius, toast, bacon and a cheesey omelet, made by my wonderful husband. And then I opened presents from my sister and my mom that my dad brought over with him because he came to take me to dinner for my birthday. So, I don't know why so many people think that thirty is threatening because mine has just been FUN!!!

The Mighty Turkey Hunter

He can hit something. . .the story goes like this-Brian went turkey hunting Tuesday morning before work. He shot his 20 pound turkey around 7:30 A.M. He came home and quickly gutted it and then off to work he went. He worked a call shift from 11 A.M. 'till 5 A.M.( Yep, 18 hours) and got up at 5 A.M. Wednesday morning to go again with a friend (Dave) to see if they could get him a turkey too. Dave got one Wednesday morning. Brian had so much fun shooting his first turkey. . . he is definitely hooked!! Just one more thing for him to hunt!!!
