Luke's Blessing

Isn't he adorable?!?!

So angelic!!!!

My best friend Noelle holding Luke!!!

Ahhhh, family!!!

Four generations!

Luke's blessing was a little different than our other kids' was. We blessed him on Saturday at Brian's old Ward building, and everyone was in their street clothes except for the men in the circle. It was different, but the spirit was still there. We are so grateful to have Luke and we are so thankful to everyone who came and traveled in snowy weather to be there. We feel so loved!!

ISN'T MIA A GOOD BABY SITTER?

Well, we are back from IF and man did we party. We started Saturday afternoon with the Taylor Christmas party and then after that, we went to the Butikofer Christmas party. I have to say it was a lot of fun being around our families. And having the kids play with all their cousins. I miss being able to see my family all the time so it was so nice to see them again even if it wasn't for very long. I love you guys!!!!!!!

Now we get to go to Idaho Falls and have Christmas again, and eat ourselves to death! YEAH!!! We love you all and hope you had a great Christmas.

The Tooth Fairy Finally Comes to the Taylor's

Well, the tooth fairy finally got to come to the Taylor's house. Josh lost his first tooth. . . well, kind of. We noticed this last weekend that he had a tooth that came through behind his baby tooth so yesterday we went to the dentist and he had to pull the baby tooth out. But a tooth is a tooth and the fairy took it and gave Josh a gold dollar. Hurray!!!!

CAUTION: This could happen to you if you kiss Santa!!

So again, more pictures. But I had totally forgotten about this adorable outfit that Tina got me that I wanted to use for our Christmas cards (And when you get your Christmas cards you will see that I forgot!). So I had to take pictures of him in the adorable outfit and post them for all to see. And as an FYI, Luke had to go to the Dr.'s today to get a PKU done and he weighed 7lbs. 7.5 oz. He gained an entire pound in less than two weeks. YEAH!!! And since I don't want you to forget my other cute kids, I included a picture of our first snowman of the season, and yes it is pitiful compared to the Utah snowmen or Eastern Idaho snowmen, but we take what we can get!!!

Presenting Luke Hulet

I decided since Luke is pretty much a week old now, it was time for a photography session. He is doing so well. He sleeps pretty good at night (at least a few hours at a time, usually) and is just content to sit and look around. So if the first week is the hardest, I am going to be doing great. Of course, next week I will have to take care of my other kids again (thanks again, Tina). So we will see how it goes. Enjoy the pictures!

We Are Blessed!!!

Maybe it is just the hormones, but there hasn't been one day this week when I haven't cried. Not because I'm upset, but because I feel so blessed. I have such wonderful friends who have been bringing us meals --not just the standard two meals because you had a baby, but six. . . a weeks worth!! Thanks guys!! And my Mom, who came as soon as she knew I was in labor to take care of us. It was so nice to have her here! Thanks a million Mom!! You are the best Mom in the world!! And my precious sister-in-law, Tina, who has gone above and beyond sisterhood and friendship. She has taken Mike everyday this week so that I could rest and just worry about the baby while Josh is in school. It has been so wonderful to just be able to bond with Luke and just have to worry about him. Words cannot express my thankfulness to her for her kindness. And then there is Luke, he is so beautiful. I can't imagine our lives without him, and I am so glad I will never have to!! Thanks again to everyone!!

New Baby Taylor

Well guys the time has come to introduce the new baby of the Taylor and Butikofer clan. Jan start to contract about 5 min apart this morning about 1:45am. At 4:00am jan woke her sleeping husband from a deep sleep to say that her contractions were three minutes apart. after going to the hospital on a foggy morning we found out that she was dilated to a 3. so we walked and walked, Jan did some stairs and walked some more to find out that she was dilated to a 3.5. So off to the tub we went and the contractions got harder. then we were at a 4. so we were admitted to the hospital with the iv and epidural placement. Well after long and trialsome baby delivery. We found out that the child was posterior and came out face up. OUCH. the handsome devil weighed in at a wopping 6lbs 6ozs and 21 inches. not a bad looking kid.

the name we chose for the child was Luke Hulet Taylor (not luke skywalker taylor like mike wanted). Sorry for Max lovers out there.

A Huntin' We Will Go

I thought for sure that going Christmas tree hunting would put me into labor. . . . the bumpy roads and hiking up and down hills to find the perfect tree should do it. NOPE!!!! As you can see from the picutres, Brian did most of the hiking and found the perfect trees for Christmas. Yesterday we put up all of our decorations too!! We are looking pretty Christmasy over here. And just to keep you all posted, I had my 36 week (actually it was 36 weeks and 3 days) appointment yesterday. I was only dilated to a 1 and 50% effaced. I'm afraid nothing is going to happen this week.

Eyes Wide Open

So we had Thanksgiving dinner at Tina's (Brian's sister) house. And we took the camera hoping to get good pictures of us enjoying the BIG meal, but dinner was over before we knew it, so I didn't get any pictures. So while Brian was having his post-dinner turkey on a roll, I thought I will take a picture of him so we could remember this moment! Ha! Ha! As you can see it took me many tries to get him to keep his eyes open. My husband, as cute as he is, has no idea how to work the camera!!!

Barefoot and Pregnant

Brian snapped this photo of me cooking on Thanksgiving Morning. He said that he finally had me barefoot and pregnant and in the kitchen, just where he likes me. I know, I know, there is a lot of testosterone in my house, and only more to come. Ha! Ha!

Scary Moment

Well, with nothing else to blog, I thought I would share our scary moment we had this weekend. Saturday night, Brian and I were getting into bed around 10 P.M. And I thought to myself, "I haven't felt the baby move today." So then we tried to get the baby to move--we jiggled my stomach, poked my stomach, and I drank juice and laid on my side. Well, after an hour, he still wasn't moving. So Brian called Labor and Delivery at the hospital and they said you need to come in. So we called Tina to babysit and to the hospital we went. When we got there they hooked us up to the monitors. The baby looked fine and he eventually started moving, but then they saw another problem. . . . I was contracting every few minutes. I told her I always do that and that they were just Braxton-Hicks contractions. but being 35 weeks she was concerned. So she called the Dr. and he wanted them stopped. So they gave me a Tributalene shot to stop the contractions. They didn't stop but got less intense so after a little while of monitoring me, they let us go home. We were there until 2:30 A.M. Sunday morning. What a crazy and scary night. The next time I go in. I will be popping this baby out. No more of that stuff!!!

The Pumpkin Patch

My friend Robyn, who came to visit, just sent me some pictures of the kids she took at the pumpkin patch. They turned out soooo cute. We had so much fun picking pumpkins. The kids got to ride on a tractor pulled train and do the T-Rex maze. Of course, Mike and Josh loved that.

Halloween Time

My computer has been acting up so I am late in posting my Halloween pictures. Josh and Mike love trick or treating (what kid wouldn't). Mom on the other hand hates having buckets of candy in her house (because I eat it!!) :) Now, if these costumes look familiar it's because the boys have worn them the last 3 years. . . .now that is getting your money's worth. I also included a picture of our niece, Alexis, who was a ballerina. . . isn't she cute.

Saturday Fun

Life around here has been crazy this week. We moved Brian's sister, Tina, and her family, into their new house. It was a lot of work for them, but now it is over!! YEAH!! And, in our subdivision on Saturday, we had a bike rodeo. Josh and Mike had a lot of fun learning about bike safety and racing. They had activities like a "stopping on a dime" and a paper toss. Josh liked pretending he was a paper boy and in fact, he has a pretty good aim (maybe that should be his summer job someday!!).
